Location
The strong point of Hotel Serenissima is undoubtedly the strategic position in which it is located: in the heart of Venice, less than a 5 minute walk from Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. You can easily explore the historic center on foot and then, from the nearby Rialto and San Marco stops, get on a vaporetto (waterbus) to reach the most distant areas of the city and the other islands of the lagoon.
Any suggestions on the itineraries to follow during your stay?
From the hotel it’s easy to reach the Cannaregio district, where the Ca’d’oro and the historic Jewish Ghetto are located, which are definitely worth visiting. The area is also full of bacari (or typical Venetian restaurants) where you can enjoy a cocktail and typical Venetian cicheti (finger food) and shops for a bit of shopping.
An original area to explore is the Giudecca, reachable by vaporetto from San Marco. The area is known for its photographic exhibitions of the Casa dei Tre Oci, the Church of the Redentore, artisan shops and art galleries built from the recovery of disused manufacturing facilities, with a wonderful view of San Marco.
Discover the islands of the lagoon, reachable by vaporetto from San Marco: the beaches and the Art Nouveua villas of the Venice Lido, the famous Murano glassworks, the colorful houses of Burano, the ancient Basilica of Torcello.
